Winn Telecom is a
subsidiary of Winn Telephone Company. Winn Telephone Company
has been serving the businesses and residents of Winn, Michigan
for nearly a century. After the Telecom Act of 1996 Winn
Telephone Company sought to expand into other markets, and thus
Winn Telecom was formed, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC).
Winn Telecom sold its first
line in April of 2001 and now has over 6,500 business and
residential lines. The Management of Winn Telecom brings a rich
history of telephone expertise into the markets that we service.

Opens Mt. Pleasant office on Mission Street
Purchases telephone switch from Lucent as part of $3.5 million start-up
2001:
Ends first full year with 397
customers and 635 telephone lines
2002:
Triples growth to 1,290
customers and 4,398 lines
2003: Installs first T-3 high-capacity circuit
Operates over fiber optic cable at 45 million bits per second
2004: Continues rapid growth, with 2,149 customers and 6,874 telephone lines
Employs 20 full-time employees
2005: Opens office in Gaylord in $1.3 million expansion
Installs soft switch from Metaswitch, a leader in VoIP technology
